Breaking the Mold
It's not the sexiest of projects, but it is one that's vitally important to the inhabitants of the building.
This Eastern Shore medical facility developed significant mold issues as a result of long-term mechanical failure combined with moisture infiltration of the building's envelope. The result was excessive humidity over a prolonged period and random, widespread surface microbial activity.
Scheduling challenges abound with this project as we tackle specifically-denoted phases to accommodate movement of patients and allow for the continuation of operations with no disruption of care. Careful adherence to scheduling guidelines has been vital.
At this writing we have been onsite for some six months and anticipate another year of continuous effort that features 20 employees and 95 air scrubbers. The anticipated final cost of the project: approximately $3 million.
